Introducing the STAY Recharge & Connect Station™
Published: August 2026
STAY is excited to introduce the STAY Recharge & Connect Station™, a new mobile, community-based technology access and engagement tool designed to help people stay connected while creating a low-barrier point of contact with support.
The station currently provides free device charging during community outreach, helping individuals maintain access to important calls, emails, credentials, housing providers, benefits, transportation, and other essential resources.
The idea grew directly from what we continue to see in the community: sometimes the barrier between a person and the resource they need is as simple as a dead phone, lack of internet access, or difficulty accessing information online.
The Recharge & Connect Station™ is designed to meet that immediate need first while creating an opportunity for connection.
Our first deployment took place in Troy alongside Sidewalk Warriors Troy, where community members were already able to use the station to keep their phones charged and access important information.
And this is only Version One.
STAY plans to continue developing the station with additional technology-access features, including mobile connectivity and secure access to online information and resources, as the pilot expands across the Capital Region.
The STAY Recharge & Connect Station™ reflects how we believe community engagement should work: practical, accessible, relationship-based, and responsive to what people need in the moment.
